Background
Patricia Forrest’s skill as an artist is underpinned by a strong base of formal training: having achieved her ARCA at the Royal Colledge of Art and then worked for many years as a graphic designer. Her first independent artwork was flowers and then landscapes, both areas proving to be successful commercially. After her husband encouraged her to try an aviation painting she found she had a talent for the subject and never looked back. She joined the Guild of Aviation Artists in order to increase her expertise and knowledge, becoming a Full Member in 1994. She has subsequently won several awards at the Guild’s prestigious annual exhibition. She paints mainly in gauche but at times also in oil or watercolour.
